LOL -- please don't fall for the crazy rants of this guy, Barney Moran. He's been dogging lijit for a while now. A google search on the guy reveals that his union doesn't even have its own website, instead it's a one-page blog, and has never hassled anybody except lijit. Can anybody say creepy disgruntled former employee?

Lijit's been awesome! Their customer service is first rate.

Interesting. I'll have to re-read the terms of use but if something like this were true, most likely Lijit will cease to exist for some folks. The WordPress default search mechanism with the right plugins is sufficient for a blog search engine as well as Google Custom Search.

A lot of Internet content is free reign in many forms - borrowing sentences, scraping, quotes, etc., just to name a few, we just don't like to think it is.

Of course that doesn't mean it's right and if you're a big company with big guns you can certainly shoot others down, but they'll be rest assured - less and less people will think - less and less of that company. The Interwebz has a way of doing that.

Personally, I currently subscribe to <a href="http://zenhabits.net/2008/01/open-source-blogging-feel-free-to-steal-my-content/" rel="nofollow">Leo's mindset.</a>

Hi Bill,

Publishers Union of Bloggers currently advise Publishers hold off installing any Lijit Software on their blogs pending both Lijit’s filling the doughnut hole with its promised upcoming transparency from Lijit concerning revenue and Lijit's current 'terms of use' which gives Lijit free reign concerning use of your content once our Publishers install Lijit Software into their blog.

Any thoughts on these critical issues for Pub's, pass it on, all appreciate it.
