Ruby on Rails is also known as RoR. Many like it because it is easy to use and you can do so much with it. I my self use it too. Together with the <a href="http://www.simpleworker.com/" rel="nofollow">Ruby On Rails Scheduling</a>, a queuing and scheduling platform for your jobs in Rails.

I know a bit of web programming languages but Ruby on Rails is not one of them. Is it more like Javascript or is it a more server based language like PHP? All these programming languages that are so close to each other, they just need to stick with one! >.<

I've been using rails for awhile and couldn't be happier, but it does have a bit of a learning curve and the documentation I've found online leaves a lot to be desired. For me, the best resource to start learning was the book "Agile Web Development with Rails". Once you get the hang of rails though you'll never want to use another Framework again.
